What is the SAT?
The SAT & ACT are standardized tests used by American Universities to compare applicants and see how ready they are to succeed at university. The test has 2 parts: Reading, Writing & Maths.
Each section is scored out of 800 points. The ACT also tests reading, writing & maths, but it also has a science component. The more selective the university you are applying to, the higher scores that will be expected for each SAT section or combined ACT score.
Why should a student be prepared for SAT test?
A student should be prepared for the SAT test because it is a widely used standardized exam for college admissions in the United States.
Preparing for the SAT can help the student improve their scores, enhance their critical reading, writing, and mathematical skills, demonstrate their college readiness, and potentially save time and money by reducing the number of times they need to take the test.
A good SAT score can increase a student’s chances of getting into their preferred colleges, and demonstrate to colleges that the student is ready for the academic rigors of college-level coursework.
